One on One Post Session Advice For Image Selection

During our headshot session, we'll shoot a variety of looks available to use for personal branding purposes. We'll discuss the pictures and any possible edits; to better understand how the final photos will look.

At the end of the session, we'll sit down together, grab a coffee and go through the images. Your final headshots are chosen individually at the end of the session. That puts you in complete control of the final cost depending on how many pictures you require ($150 per image)

If desired, we can bring our studio set-up to your location; and provide the same service you would receive at our studio. When choosing what to wear on the day of the shoot, we always remind you of our #1 rule; you must love it.

We encourage you to bring different options of clothing you will be comfortable shooting in. You don’t have to dress seasonally; your clothing can vary from t-shirts, sweaters, and light jackets. We love textures and layers, but we try to keep the jewelry to a minimum. Anything hanging or chunky will usually draw too much attention away from you in a headshot

Choice of wardrobe will help add the finishing touches to your overall image and photoshoot experience!

HAIR
Come in with your hair the way you would wear it for a day. No one knows your hair better than you do. If you have long hair, we will probably be moving it a lot until we find the way it looks best on camera. If you have short hair, things are certainly easier for you! Be sure to bring any specific hair products and accessories that you might need. Have a few grey hairs? Don't worry, those can be retouched.

GROOMING
Be sure to check some basic things before the shoot. Cut longer nose hairs to the best of your ability. Give your eyebrows a quick combing. Make sure your eyelashes aren't curling down and blocking your eyes. Moisturize your lips as much as you can. Check your teeth and give them another brush.

MAKEUP
Studio lighting and cameras show an incredible amount of detail. Because of that, makeup can easily go over the top quickly if you are not careful. Having too much or poorly applied makeup may negatively affect your look. It is significantly easier to remove blemishes and correct skin color and texture issues in retouching when the face has less makeup. Keep makeup very light and natural. You can always add more as the session go on, but it is much harder to remove if there is too much.
These might seem weird or basic, but these will help improve the shots and make retouching significantly easier. I am good at catching and fixing the little things during a shoot, but the more prepared you are when you come, the better the final images will be.
